The first step...

The first physical step toward healing will be this Thursday, the 28th. I am scheduled for surgery at 10:00 @ Woodwinds. My sister, husband, and mother will be with me. The surgeon is going to keep me overnight for one night to allow for a better transition home.

The emotional and spiritual healing has been/is on-going with the many positive thoughts and prayers that are happening on behalf of me and my family. For this, I am so thankful.

I'm not sure how many days I will be off work for this first procedure, but I'll try to update here if possible.

We talked to the boys about this upcoming surgery for the first time tonight - no "C" word at this point. It was still very difficult and emotional, with many tears. I could see the fear in their eyes. We did our best to reassure them. We will tell them more details as the next treatment plans to in place.

Thanks to all who are praying! The prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective!

Ms. Wendee:
Thank you for sharing your journey - my heart breaks as I read your blogs.

I cannot begin to imagine how difficult and scary this has been for you and your family. I am praying for you and your family - you are a strong, young woman that absolutely will overcome this obstacle.

Please, please let me know if you would like a visitor at any time or want me to hang out with the boys or any meals, etc. I would love to help and be there for you and your family any way I can. I might even get some wrestling moves so the boys won't take me down. :)

I am sending big, big hugs and lots of love and strength to you.

Love and hugs,
Charlee

Dear precious sister, how thankful I am that the He has made us not only sisters, but friends!

Thank you for having the strength to share this challenge with so many who love and care about you! Thank you even more for graciously and humbly accepting the outpouring of love, prayers and help from these people!

Like you shared from a friend going through a cancerous challenge, "God chooses the strongest vessels - ones He knows will survive and will deliver His testimonies." You are SO faithful!

I love you and as you know - I, Dave and Genevieve are here for you and your family!

Much love, in Him,
Sonja

Dear Wendee, We are right there with you in this fight. Know that we love you and are praying for a fast, speedy recovery. It has been said that attitude is 90% of what happens to us,1 10% the concrete, given the things we have to deal with. Your positive attitude will get you through all of this along with all the well wishes and prayers of your friends and family. Big HUGS! Love, Marsha L.

Wendee,

When you leave 3M you definitely are out of the information loop. Thanks to Sally for keeping us informed. We learned about your journey this morning prior to going to our Bible Study class. Needless to say, now our entire class knows of your journey and is praying for your speedy recovery and great attitude. Thanks for keeping us informed through this blog. Leanna and I will continue to keep you in our prayers and know that everything will be alright. Remember, God loves you and so do we.

We will continue to keep close tabs on you and your journey.

Dearest Wendee,
There are many "first steps" in life. You are taking your first steps to recovery. And this is my first step into the world of blogs. Don't know if I can keep it up though. It is a bit intimidating.

Okay, so you have had some news and your first reaction was "ugh", like someone hit you in the stomach. The next day you awake with the feeling, it's not fair but your attitude has changed to "I CAN DO IT"! And you know that you will never be alone, never.

I will be checking on you often along with your many other friends. Good luck tomorrow and count on your network to pray for you, listen to you, help you and love you. It is a community of faith -- knowing that you will get better, one step at a time.

Hugs, Barbara Peterson

You are an inspiration for putting your trust in the Lord and for sharing your expereince. Talk about humbing yourself by sharing your personal details. I will pray for you and your family, in addition to the doctors and those invovled with your surgery and treatments. Stay strong and give it all to the Lord.
